How to keep the energy flowing to maintain your Health! Meridians Magic Power

Updated: Mar 21, 2022

First of all, I would like to warn our expert readers that I do not pretend to explain the Chinese Medicine Meridian system in details as it would take a full book to do so and I am not an expert.

This article is more to give you a simplified perspective to get an overall understanding of what is a Meridian and how keeping each meridian clear can help maintaining our body healthy. And for the skepticals, meridians are scientifically proven to exist.

Healthy Body, Happy Mind!

Let’s start with the Qi, pronounced “tchee”.

According to the Oxford dictionary: it’s the circulating life force whose existence and properties are the basis of much Chinese philosophy and medicine.

From Chinese (Mandarin dialect) qì, literally means ‘air, breath’.

This Qi, this energy, this life force that circulates in our body does so through energetic circuits called meridians, which all meet into centers of energies called the chakras.

In a previous article about Energy Medicine, we saw that meridians are one of the 9 energy system in Donna Eden Energy Medicine. I will describe them following the way we work with them in this modality.

The meridians pathways form our energy transportation system.

There are 12 + 2 main tangible energy pathways (meridians) that carry energy into, through, and out of our body.

A profound intelligence resides in them. “Energy and blood flow continuously through the meridians, yet they also transmit information to and among your organs. What kind of information? Instantaneously they send signals to raise or lower your body temperature, signs that your body needs to release water, signals to regulate emotion, among countless others. Are you aware that your body is constantly communicating with itself through innumerable messages flowing through your meridians? These life-giving energy pathways help coordinate the work of the organs and keep your body balanced by regulating its functions.” Source: tcmworld.org

Each meridian flows through and serves at least one organ or physiological system. Known in Chinese Medicine as acupuncture points, there are “energy dots” along each meridian.

They can be stimulated with needles or physical pressure (acupressure), to release or redistribute energy.

“According to TCM, as long as Qi flows freely through your meridians and your organs work in harmony, your body can remain healthy. This means that when your body’s meridian system functions well, you are well. Yet due to a number of causes—like excess stress—your body’s meridians can become clogged or even blocked. This affects the function of the corresponding organ and ultimately the whole body-mind-spirit”. Source: tcmworld.org

In order to keep all meridians pathways free flowing, there are a few methods and one of them is by tracing the meridian lines forward every day. Simply by using the electromagnetic of your hands. This video shows you how to do it. The key is to use your intention as we aren’t all Chinese Medicine experts.

We trace it following the Meridian Wheel (clockwise).

We start with tracing Central and Governing Meridian (as shown in the video), then we trace the meridian at which time we are in, and follow the wheel until tracing the meridian we started with and closing with Central and Governing again. Easy!

Note: the Chinese tend to start with Lung meridian and when in doubt, starting with the Spleen is always a good choice.

You can find meridian lines right here.

Ex: It’s 2:30pm.

You trace the meridians in this order:

- Central and Governing.

- Small Intestine

- Bladder

- Kidney

- Pericardium

- Triple Warmer

- Gallbladder

- Liver

- Lung

- Large intestine

- Stomach

- Spleen

- Heart

- Small Intestine

- Central and Governing

It looks a little difficult to remember and intimidating at first but it’s only a matter of practice, intention and having fun doing it. And it feels so good once you start feeling the energy running through your entire body.

My little add on: I open the gaits (doors) before I trace my meridians. I rub the inside and outside of my hands and swipe all excess energy off my fingers and I do the same with my feet: I rub firmly under and over each foot and off my toes.

Bonus: I also use a selenite stone to rub my hands and feet, instead of my hands.

To conclude, I really want to emphasize on the fact that taking care of ourselves on a daily basis is our best bet to maintain ourselves healthy, on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels.

Remember that in the old days in China, doctors were paid as long as their patients remained healthy. When they were ill, doctors did not get paid and had to “fix” the problem. This is what I call a clever preventative system. It’s easier to remain healthy than to fall ill and fight to get back to balance.

We all go through some illnesses related to stress, emotions, genetics and so on, as this is part of our evolution. But there are some basic daily issues we could totally stay away from to live a smoother, happier life as well. I’d be happy to read your thoughts on that,

I hope you find this useful.
